"Update.exe", I seem to remember, is associated with either Google Chrome's
updating process or Microsoft's Security Essentials Anti-Virus updating
   process.

Microsoft's Security Essentials updating process also uses WUAUCLT.EXE and
SVCHOST.EXE to complete it's download / installation of it's latest malware
   database.

It's possible that the problem is caused by one, the other, or may be a
   little of both!

All I can suggest is, again, temporarily disable Window's Automatic Updates
(from the Windows Updates control panel) for a while and see if it helps,
in any way, towards solving the problem.

You may also want to also [temporarily] disable the entry in "Scheduled
Tasks" that launches the Google software updater application "Google
Software Updater" - that is; if you have Google software installed on your
   machine.

As far as Microsoft's Security Essentials Anti-Virus updating process is
concerned, the only thing I can suggest there is to use the "Update on
Demand" facility - to get that out of the way so that any interruptions do
not occur later in the day - again, only if you do have MSSE installed on
   you machine, that is...
