XPost: alt.windows-xp       From: timmeddick@o2.co.uk              Very true.              For instance, as in the case of you plugging a Flash "Pen" Memory Stick       Drive into a USB port - Xp will automatically go find the generic USB Mass       Storage Driver and install it (if not already done so).              But, as most external USB Hard Drives are made to common specifications,       99% use generic drivers and I don't know of any that are sold that include       or require any additional software for them to work.              You might try re-booting, going into your BIOS setup and looking for a       setting like "Enable USB Legacy Devices" - it may help.              My only other suggestion would be to post all information you can about       your drive (inc., model number, serial number, etc.,) here and I'll try and       research an answer for you...              ==              Cheers, Tim Meddick, Peckham, London. :-)                                    |
