   Once the drive (USB,SATA) is in a USB enclosure, all OS consider it a USB   
   (removable) drive.   
   USB drives do not normally need 3rd party drivers on XP.   
   If the drive was formerly part of a RAID set, you may need to do some (??)   
   tricks to reformat. (Some disk utilities still show one of my, now USB drives,   
   as part of a RAID set. It was a part of a (broken) Mirror set, so it works.   
      
   So the big question: Does any USB storage wok on your system in that port?   
      
   BTW your drive can NOT be jumpered as SLAVE. CS or Master only
