   I'm glad I don't use those doctors, but couldn't care less whether   
   a pizza place goes out of business because of outdated and unsupported   
   software failure (or more likely criminal activity due to unfixed   
   security holes.)   
   Banks and other large institutions have their own support contracts and   
   the ones which will stay in business are already migrating to new OS   
   versions.   
   For Joe Public, I think XP will be usable for many years, but hardware   
   only lasts for so long and new hardware will simply not have XP drivers   
   written for it (this is already the case for many laptops, for example.)
