   I assume that the default condition of a commercial router would be to   
   have no security, or to use its published default credentials, which   
   you can find in their manual. So, after pushing the router's Reset   
   button, I think you will be able to use a wireless connection to   
   establish your own SSID and passphrase. Of course, the router will have   
   it's own default ID/password. It's often "admin" and "password."   
      
   I see plenty of unsecured routers in my neighborhood. I assume they   
   just took it out of the box, plugged it in, and forgot about it.
