   He wanted an excuse to get his parents to fork out the money on a better   
   router.  Besides, it seems they burn out after 3-5 years, anyway, due to   
   using convection cooling instead of forced airflow.   
      
   Now with his new router, and because they all come with the same default   
   password, he'll change the password and eventually forget that one, too.   
   Then he'll buying another new router.  Wonder were he discards the old   
   router?  Advertize it in Craigslist and let someone smarter get a free   
   router that all they have to do is reset it.  Or he could stuff in in a   
   drawer and after several months it'll be ready to use again after the   
   internal capacitor drains off and the router reverts to the defaults.
