   I am a Netgear Pro series (The Blue cased series, not the 'consumer series')   
    fan. The tend to run until you do something (stupid, like I did) to Kill one.   
   my current one (FVS328) has been running almost 10 years. This is a Wired   
   Router. I use a separate Access point (which is what tends to wear out).   
      
   So, if the WiFi is what is dead, just disable it and add a External Access   
   point !
