Try checking the service manager to       see an entry for Adavanced installer. Then nuke, uh... disable it. Also       check for an entry in one of Windows startup category using Microsoft's       AutoRuns.              > I don't know how they got there. None that help me.              Mirosoft never did uses Advanced Installer technology. It's the other way       around. Advanced Installer uses Microsoft's technology. Specifically, the       Windows Installer.              > It appears to have originated from a Romanian company,       > Caphyon, Ltd.       >       > (Being paranoid, I suspect it has openings for invasions.)       >       > Should I get rid of these hidden directories? ????????       > MasonC              The likely contents of those folders are a duplicate (or partial duplicate)       on Windows' Recycle Bin for each drive. If not, then the contents are the       deleted data files of the program that was installed using Advanced       Installer. Or they're the master installer files or the program's backup       files themselves. Worst case is, they are collected files of personal       information. Either way, you should check the contents first using a hex       viewer/editor.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
