Wy wife's computer is totally messed up --- AVG install attempt   
   failed because Windows "installer: wasn't working properly.   
    System restore fails because it says there are no available restore   
   points ( Tues there were 3 or 4 there)!   
     Attempt to work in "safe mode" didn't help.   
     (Actually this is a Vista system but I can't get to a vista group   
   and I don't think this qustion is OS dependent .)   
     There are available (on e-bay) disks called "reinstall" disks.   
   I could of course get a new OS disk (we have none --- the OS came   
   pre-installed and with no disk.   
      I tried in safe mode but was kept away from all system stuff   
   because I didn't know the "administrator" key --- whatever that is?   
      
      Any help would be appreciated!!
