   For me OS/2 was work related, it was better than anything MS had until   
   NT 3.51, and near as good as NT 4.0, but IBM neglected it worse than   
   Apple did to their Lisa. There is a fine line between keeping things   
   proprietary, so it will not turn into a big mess like Linux, and not   
   allowing anybody to modify/interact with your system.   
   IBM, and latter Apple tried to have the cake and eat it all too.
