I have an XP- PRO machine whicxh is, I think, on the verge of dying   
   ( frequent blue screen --"a disk need to be checked" message. The   
   disk check frequently shows files mis-filed or whatever the message   
   means. Then I say OK and presumable it fixes them.   
    Also  notes  --" the machine has recovered from a serious error---"   
   etc and sends a message to MS  etc.   
    So I want to get a new laptop. But they all have Win 8, which I   
   despise (my wifw's new computer has it and I can't ctually get to the   
   computer do do anything!   
      So my diotic idea -- buy a new lap top With win 8 installed ;   
   get a new copy of Win XP on e-bay, and install it over Win 8.   
     Is that doable (to get a working XP machine) ?? Or is that just   
   asking for a messed up computrer with nothing working??   
     Yeah I know it's dumb but Win 8 is simply not acceptable!
