   Very unlikely a new laptop will have drivers available for XP.   
      
   If you get Win8 a utility such as Classic Shell can easily turn of the   
   unwanted interface and give you a GUI essentially the same as Win7.   
      
   OTOH: A very new laptop may have Win8.1 on it
