   Strange behavior

This morining, I booted up my computer as usual. At the screen 'Windows is
loading your settings', the system froze. There was no indication the hard
   drive was being accessed.

I manually powered off the system and restarted it with the same behavior a
couple of times. I then restarted the unit and checked the BIOS. All
seemed normal; boot sequence was correct (HD not deleted).

Was able to finally start the system.

Any input as to cause of this behavior, if if an indicator of impending
   failure?

   Thanks.
