   512MB RAM is insufficient these days.  Many times Windows slowness is   
   just a lack of free RAM. Upgrade to at least 1.5GB. 3 would be better.   
      
   Also, I suggest you upgrade to Service Pack 3, do a system clean, and   
   defrag your hard drive.
