Before my dreams moved to a different level a few years ago I
sometimes had very vivid dreams like you just described while still
concious. They only happened while napping after a days work when I
had not had a good nights sleep usually 2-4 hours shut-eye.

I would close my peepers and seat myself in a comfortable position
with the music playing. I would continue to hear the music showing I
was concious but I was dreaming the whole time. Enjoyed it every time.
