   My guess is that it happened because you were relatively deeply asleep.   
   My suggestion on how to deal with it is to try to make the best of it and   
   have fun exploring the lucid dreams/projections/whatever that you're   
   getting.  You're bound to wake up eventually.  Set an alarm clock if it   
   will reassure you of this.
