   Coward.

I like to start the name-calling early, it saves time, since all usenet
   discussions eventually degenerate into arguments.

It doesn't look much like that to me.

   Hilarious.

So you think it more likely that:
Aliens travelled trillions of miles through space to find earth, and when
they get there they appear only to a non-entity living in the arse-end of
   nowhere.
Although they make contact with him, they act like fakes, so that people
won't be forced into believing in them (in which case, why bother?)
They pass incorrect information through him (again, presumably so as not
to be too convincing), and withold anything which would actually prove
their case, although they take him into the future so that he can make
   convincing prophecies.

   than:

A random nutter fakes photographs using simple camera trickery and models.

Hmm, lets see, is there any evidence to support either side?
Well, the trickery is obvious under enhancement, and the models are
discovered. He pretends that he has a photograph of one of them; but when
this is shown to be a photo of an ordinary model, he claims that his
photograph has been stolen, and the fake substituted instead (but there is
no evidence to support this claim, apart from his word). He claims to have
travelled into the future; but "evidence" he produces to support his
   story, is also a fake.

So, on the one hand, you have a starfaring civilisation behaving in an
implausibly illogical way, and on the other hand you have a known liar and
   faker.

What does logic tell you now?
