   Funny tho your answer be, there's a bit more to it, but I'm not sure if I'm   
   half-making this up, or if I'm half-remembering it, but:   
      
   The rest of the tale goes something like:  these hounds will bay / howl such   
   that the male heirs hear them.   
      
   The reason I'm posting this is to see if anyone else is aware of or knows of   
   such tales...
