   Most of the public wouldn't know the truth if it hit them with a stick -   
   they reflexively disbelieve anything Government sources tell them, and   
   reflexively believe anything which fits their existing world view.   
      
   But, back to your original point, psychics are not the people to ask if   
   you want the truth, since it has not been established that they are a   
   reliable means of ascertaining it.
