   No, we don't have direct experience of those things - that's not how   
   science works: people theorise, make predictions based on those theories,   
   and then test those predictions.   
      
   In the case of quarks, the indirect evidence, from billions of collisions,   
   is that the standard model, in which quarks are defined, is largely   
   correct.

   Science has taken us from banging the rocks together to splitting atoms   
   within two hundred years.  Mysticism is still stuck where it was two   
   thousand years ago.
