We sometimes dream of people who are no longer in our lives around dates
which were significant because of them; such as birthdays or anniversaries
   of their passing.

Perhaps this might be the case.

Either way, there is no good evidence that dreams are anything more than a
mental housecleaning, so my advice is to just enjoy seeing the people you
   loved for one more time.
