I was speaking of the current crop of hominids which are currently
inhabiting Earth. There is strong evidence that the original
aborigines of north, south America and the pacific were from Siberia.

   >Makes me think that perhaps several humanoid species were deployed

We really don't have the archeological evidence to support that.
All of the findings point to once continuous race of hominoids, which
may have been genetically altered over time by either visiting
extraterrestrial civilizations, or more likely the current ET
civilization which has Earth under observation.

Again, the archaeological and genetic evidence point to one
species of Earth hominids -- with sporadic genetic modifications.

If you were trying to create a new species of sentient beings, how
precisely would you go about it? Or more precisely, if you found
a new species of genetically created sentient beings which were ill
equipped to survive, what would you do?

   >Our solar system is roughly a third the age of this universe,

Wrong. Due the fact that the Universe is constantly recycling itself,
you have no way of EVER knowing how old the Universe is.

For the millionth time -- there's nothing on Earth that any billion
   year old extraterrestrial civilization needs.
