   This has been big recently so I'm going to jump on   
   the bandwagon -- "Back" on the bandwagon, I suppose,   
   as I had already been on it -- and add my 2 cents.

   I don't think I mention it, and most of the recent   
   debunking of the "hitler died in the bunker" myth   
   don't mention it but, the Berlin bunker wasn't even   
   Hitler's bunker!   
      
   Hitler's bunker -- where the German high command was   
   relocated after the Russian's overran the Wolf's Lair   
   -- was the Maybach bunker!   
      
   THAT was the replacement of the Wolf's Lair!  THAT   
   was the location of the high command AND the   
   communications hub of the German military!   
      
   So in addition to all the facts I spell out in the   
   above (and even earlier on usenet, I believe) there's   
   the fact that "The Bunker" wasn't even Hitler's!   
      
   Goebbels was Gauleiter of the Berlin area.   
      
   See, at the end of the war all the really important   
   cities were supposed to fight to the bitter end, and   
   they were all commanded by a loyal Nazi party Gauleiter.   
      
   Think of it as a "Governor," but a party office not a   
   civil office...   
      
   As Gauleiter of Berlin, Goebbels was in that bunker.   
      
   He was in that bunker, and even the official accounts   
   say he was there... there's video of his body being dug   
   up by the Russians!   
      
   So Goebbels was Gauleiter of Berlin, his "Duty" was to   
   hold out to the bitter end, he was in that bunker as a   
   fact and if you take the official version of Hitler's   
   death, erase "Hitler" and write in "Goebbels" then the   
   story exactly matches proven facts.   
      
   Hitler? He would never have been in that bunker. He was   
   18km away in the Maybach bunker, if he was even still
