   This shouldn't come as a surprise because Darwin's topic was   
   COMMON DESCENT. Darwin's grandfather was a proponent of   
   common descent and viewed as something of a common descent   
   guru.   
      
   This was never a classless society and Darwin's grandfather   
   had so much status that he was not only invited to be the   
   king's doctor but, DECLINED THE OFFER!  Now *That* is status!
