   No, as I just posted here a moment ago, Darwin's original idea was   
   evolution by natural selection.  Once again, Darwin and Wallace's   
   theories on evolution by natural selection were published at the same   
   time in 1858.  After this, Darwin got to work, and published his Origin   
   a year later in November 1859.
