   Although "often and often" Dawwin's mortal frame   
   rippled with the awful thoughtb that his whole life was   
   devoted, not to the truth, but rather to only a *phantasy*   
   his troubled conscience is ~partially assuaged~ on the   
   grounds that Lyell & Hooker who also believed in the   
   ~same phantasy~  that he did, "could not be wholly   
   wrong".   
      
   So since they could not possibly be "wholly wrong"   
   (Darwin says) he feels that he may "rest in peace".   
      
   Of course the question for those of us who want the   
    truth now is,  "Was it, or, was it not, a phantasy?"   
      
   To the unbiased student the answer is..   
      
   Most emphatically it was!
