Nobody ever found various ancient species of the genus_Homo_.              People found fossils, yes, and they declared them THIS species and       THAT genus.              To give you an idea of just how idiotic it is, here's two examples       and by two I mean three:              #1. Chimps. Yes it's not popular but there is a genuine, educated,       credentialed school of thought that says Chimps are too close to       us genetically, that they're a separate species from us but that       they actually belong to our genus.              Homo, not Pan.              The real difficulty here is that it's incredibly easy to say that       Chimps are not like we are. But, when we're speaking of the genus       Homo, it's not very easy to declare Chimps THAT far away from       so called "Ancestors" that lived millions of years ago. Plus they're       just very, VERY similar genetically.              #2. Dogs and wolves are classified as the same species. They weren't       when I was a kid! And if they had that much difficulty with       animals they can inspect alive, view their anatomy, behavior and       even cross breed then you can guess how much less convincing all       the invisible lines they draw between populations that lived tens       of thousands, hundreds of thousands and even millions of years       ago.              #3. Naledi.              Naledi was a two million plus year old human ancestor that rewrote       the book on human evolution: Homo naledi. And this was true even       after they shaved off about, oh, 2 million years off of it's age...              So you actually take Australopithecus sediba, add maybe 2 million       years of evolution, get some tiny cave ape that doesn't resemble       any of it's contemporary humans and you call it a human...              It's a social program. Truth is that local officials were up in       arms after the discovery of Naledi. They said that it was going to       fuel racism, that they were going to shut down the digs, no longer       allow the academics to perform their work and, next thing you know,       Naledi was hyper advanced! It performed the only prepared burials in       Africa for hundreds of thousands of years! Before it was all over       they were claiming carvings, WRITING, controlled fire...              Yeah, fraking social program!              I'm guessing that we never heard half the story! That, they got       DNA and discovered that there had been a little cross pollinating,       if you know what I mean, and this got everyone upset.              For Christ's sake, people do the naughty with farm animals! Wtf?       Why is this suddenly an issue?              And "Molecular Clocks" are nonsense anyway. Maybe this cross       pollinating, if it happened, was 500,000 years ago, maybe it was       2 million years ago. But, I guarantee it wasn't when whatever the       "Molecular Dating" claimed.                                                                                                                                     --       https://jtem.tumblr.com/tagged/The%20Book%20of%20JTEM/page/5              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
