   THAT is the long term trend:  Downward. Cooling.   
      
   We do have the power to geoengineer the planet though. It's a   
   question of consequences:  What are they?   
      
   And even if we did geoengineer the planet, it's likely it would   
   take HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF YEARS for the deep ocean temps   
   to warm up, ending this ice age for good.   
      
   Could we maybe submerge nuclear reactors? Yes. Might we end up   
   killing most of the ocean? Of course. And the alternative, just   
   restore the exchange of waters between the oceans, will as I   
   said take hundreds of thousands of years to work...
