   This is stolen from an old post of mine but it's still as   
   relevant as ever...   
      
      
   "Ooparts" are "Out of place artifacts." They are objects   
   (tech) that should not exist during the period in which   
   they are dated to.   
      
   Most are frauds, btw. The famous "Sparkplug in a rock,"   
   for example, claims that a 1920s era spark plug was found   
   inside of 500,000 year old rock. Well. Not only is that   
   anti climactic -- a 1920s spark plug! -- but we're missing   
   any humans more sophisticated than Homo erectus. We're   
   missing any evidence what so every for 1920s level cars to   
   place spark plugs in. We're missing any evidence for the   
   exploitation of resources -- the medals, for example -- to   
   build a 1920s car. We're missing any evidence for the   
   500k year old foundries to produce this metal, the metal that   
   was never mined anywhere. We're missing the factories to   
   turn it into cars. We're missing absolutely everything   
   STARTING with the people or anything resembling people...   
      
   Some OOPARTs -- out of place artifacts -- are real though.   
   There's the famous antikythera mechanism mechanism, which few   
   if any doubt is a genuine ancient machine, and the Baghdad   
   Batteries, which, again, nobody denies are actual ancient   
   object. These things are NOT what people (mis)represent them   
   to be but none of the less they are real.   
      
   If UFOs were real, we should be swimming in genuine OOPARTs.   
      
   Aliens have supposedly been visiting our planet for thousands of   
   years. Some claim that they've been visiting us for tens of   
   thousands of years, while others claim that they've been traveling   
   here since BEFORE we even evolved! Heck, some claim that we didn't   
   evolve at all, that we were genetically engineered by aliens...   
      
   Now, here's the "Evidence" thing...   
      
   Part of UFO lore is that UFOs sometimes crash. And not just Roswell,   
   there's supposedly been a number of other crashes. But we can't see   
   any of the artifacts because our governments -- greedy for the   
   technology -- recover everything. They snatch up even the smallest   
   pieces from a crash site, keeping us ignorant and giving the crony   
   contractors a massive advantage over everyone else: New tech!   
      
   Now, none of this can be true, because if it were than surely UFOs   
   would have been crashing since before our government or ANY   
   government existed. There are people who claim that aliens were   
   already visiting us back during the age of the dinosaurs! So if   
   they have been coming here for a very long time, maybe orders of   
   magnitude longer than the genus Homo has even existed, AND it is   
   possible for them to crash... the earth should be littered with   
   OOPARTs:  Objects and materials that stick out like a sore thumb!   
      
   None of it exists.   
      
   All though ancient times UFO crash sites should have been revered   
   as holy places, in much the same way that meteorite landing spots   
   often were. And the pieces of a UFO would have been revered as   
   holy relics, sent by the gods above...   
      
   A UFO would have literally been a "Chariot of the gods."   
      
   "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from   
   magic"   
      
   We should have dozens if not many thousands of retrieved pieces   
   from crashed UFOs in our inventory -- relics gathered over the   
   eons -- and yet we have none.   
      
   If UFOs can crash now they could crash then, back in our ancient   
   past. Thus, if they were visiting in our past they had to be   
   crashing in our past, but there is simply no evidence for it.   
      
   We should be finding pieces of UFOs strew everywhere from crown   
   jewels, the tombs of kings and even the halls of our museums.   
      
   For Christ's sake, we can plainly identify iron sourced from   
   meteorites and even glass produced by a meteorite strike within   
   the tomb of King Tut, but not a piece of alien tech.   
      
   If aliens were coming here the OOPARTs should exist SOMEWHERE   
   and they don't. They don't exist.
