   It means incontinent, but not on an island. In modern english, it is a way   
   to refer to continental philosophy, from the european continent.   
   Incontinent refers to the main characteristic of continental philosophy   
   which is a never ending flow of more or less meaningless words, that are   
   judged more like poetry, than philosophy.
