   According to the latest modelling, time and space are not fundamental,   
   they emerge from spacetime which is itself not fundamental, it too   
   emerges from something more fundamental, we don't know what. But it does   
   nicely remove the problem of explaining why it all began, because things   
   don't begin without time.   
      
   (How do you turn away from external experience if there isn't anything   
   external to experience?).
