   I think mind can be said to be a screen of sorts.

   'Are' seems too strong a word. But pages of a   
   book seem to be a screen of sorts, albeit one   
   that scrolls horizontally.

   I found it enjoyable at the time because it   
   seemed a tidy(er) way to re-present phenomena   
   that otherwise required a messier, more involved

   And I just so happen to prefer tidy to messy.
