New Orleans, LA: Bourbon Street Truck Attack (Jan 1,2025)       This is currently the deadliest vehicle-ramming attack in U.S. history.       The Incident: In the early hours of New Year's Day 2025, an American-born army       veteran who claimed allegiance to ISIS drove a rented pickup truck into a       massive crowd of celebrants on Bourbon Street.              (Bourbon Street wasn't open for traffic)              The Toll: 14 people were killed and 57 were injured.       Outcome: The suspect was arrested and is facing federal terrorism charges.                     2. Toronto, ON: TMU Campus Targeted Ramming (Apr 15,2025)       The Incident: A driver entered the Nelson Mandela Walk, A PEDESTRIAN-ONLY       WALKWAY on the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) campus.       The Toll: Four people injured; the driver fled the scene.                     3. VANCOUVER, BC: Filipino Heritage Festival Attack (Apr 2025)       The Incident: A 30-year-old man DROVE AN SUV DOWN A CLOSED STREET into a crowd       of people attending a heritage festival.       The Toll: 11 people were killed.                     4. TORONTO, ON: The Yonge Street Van Attack (Apr 2018)       While a few years older, this is the "blueprint" case for CANADIAN VEHICLE       RAMMINGS ON SIDEWALKS.       The Incident: Alek Minassian drove a rented Chevrolet Express van onto the       sidewalk of Yonge Street, targeting pedestrians for several blocks.              The Toll: 11 deaths (the 11th victim died in 2021 from injuries) and 15       injured.              Outcome: Minassian was found guilty of 10 counts of first-degree murder and 16       counts of attempted murder. He was sentenced to life with no parole for 25       years.                     5. LONDON, ON: Afzaal Family Attack (June 2021)       The Incident: A 20-year-old man intentionally drove his pickup truck into a       Muslim family standing on a sidewalk at an intersection.              The Toll: Four family members were killed; one child survived.              Outcome: The driver was convicted of four counts of first-degree murder and       one count of attempted murder, with the judge ruling the act was an act of       "white nationalist terrorism."                     6. Recent Surge in Attacks on Law Enforcement (2025)              A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report released in late 2025       highlighted a 1,300% increase in vehicle attacks specifically targeting ICE       officers.              Homestead, FL (Sept 2024): A driver reversed his car into an ICE officer       during a traffic stop, nearly crushing him, before ramming multiple vehicles       to escape.              Chicago, IL (Oct 2024): A suspect rammed CBP vehicles and attempted to flee       before being stopped by a PIT maneuver.              =====              Take no chances... OR prisoners.              Try to run someone over... instant death penalty issued.              =============================================================================              "Trump Derangement Syndrome" Is a Real Mental Condition              All you need to know about "Trump Derangement Syndrome," or TDS.              "Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a mental condition in which a person has       been driven effectively insane due to their dislike of Donald Trump, to the       point at which they will abandon all logic and reason."              Justin Raimondo, the editorial director of Antiwar.com, wrote a piece in the       Los Angeles Times in 2016 that broke TDS down into three distinct phases or       stages:              "In the first stage of the disease, victims lose all sense of proportion. The       president-elect's every tweet provokes a firestorm, as if 140 characters were       all it took to change the world."              "The mid-level stages of TDS have a profound effect on the victim's       vocabulary: Sufferers speak a distinctive language consisting solely of       hyperbole."              "As TDS progresses, the afflicted lose the ability to distinguish fantasy from       reality."              The Point here is simple: TDS is, in the eyes of its adherents, the knee-jerk       opposition from liberals to anything and everything Trump does. If Trump       announced he was donating every dollar he's ever made, TDS sufferers would       suggest he was up to something nefarious, according to the logic of TDS.       There's nothing - not. one. thing. - that Trump could do or say that would be       received positively by TDSers.              The history of Trump Derangement Syndrome actually goes back to the early       2000s - a time when the idea of Trump as president was a punch line for late-       night comics and nothing more.              Wikipedia traces its roots to "Bush Derangement Syndrome" - a term first       coined by the late conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer back in 2003.       The condition, as Krauthammer defined it, was "the acute onset of paranoia in       otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency - nay -       the very existence of George W. Bush."              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
