   They still can't own a gun even if they're pardoned.  The legal term   
   that has to happen is called "expungement".  A pardon simply removes   
   any punishment, but you're still convicted of whatever abomination you   
   committed... or that you were convicted of committing, which is the   
   same thing legally.
