   It depends, IMHO.   
      
   If the purpose is to round up nasty criminals that are known to be living there   
   or residing in the prisons and jails then working in conjunction with the local   
   government is the best method for all sides.   
      
   Trump gets to deport the worst of the worst illegals and the democrats in   
   MN don't have to answer the obvious question "why are you protecting these   
   criminals?".   
   That is going to be a campaign nightmare for them to explain away.   
      
   If the purpose is to sweep up every migrant they can find at Home Depot then   
   the Trump   
   loyalists are going to see a weak Trump caving to pressure and the optics are   
   also bad for the republicans because while every sane person wants criminals   
   gone   
   a good portion are not in support of deporting those who are working and have   
   done no wrong.   
   At least not initially. They can deal with that issue later on.
