   After so long trying to discredit the reliability of the figures   
   provided by the Hamas-run Government in Gaza over the number of   
   victims of Israel’s attacks, the IDF now seems to be coming round to   
   accepting those figures as credible -- as if they were ever seriously   
   in doubt .   
      
   The UN and other independent groups had always taken those Hamas   
   numbers seriously; it was only Israel that kept insisting that they   
   were somehow wrong -- yet never presenting any evidence in the form of   
   its own figures, or why its opinion might be more believable.
