|    Another Trump Failure: China May Quietly    |

XPost: alt.fan.rush-limbaugh, alt.atheism, rec.arts.tv       From: ndot@home.org              China May Quietly Start Dumping Even More U. S. Treasuries (SP500)              I strongly believe China's push for banks and institutions to curb U. S.       Treasury exposure may be driven by sanction risk in a Taiwan-invasion       scenario, rather than concerns about U. S. credit.       Chinese U. S. Treasury holdings have already declined by about 50% since 2014       and may be routed via third-party custodians, like Belgium, Luxembourg, and       the UK.       Markets initially overreacted (10-year yield jumped to 4.25%, USD weaker),       then calmed as guidance seemed to exclude Treasuries held by China's       government.       China–Taiwan tensions have been escalating since last December, including a       major drill, followed by an $11.1B U. S. arms package and a drone incursion       this year.       I see a higher risk of a Taiwan invasion. Still, it's not enough to justify       liquidating my portfolio. In the meantime, I remain cautiously bullish on the       broader U. S. markets.              Flags of the United States and China on cement background. The S&P 500 is up less than 1%, and the Nasdaq 100 is actually down       0.7% YTD at the time of              Analyst's Disclosure: I/we have no stock, option or similar derivative       position in any of the companies mentioned, and no plans to initiate any such       positions within the next 72 hours.
