   FYI, gasoline was down, but its price is trending back up now:   
      
   Week ending 01/12/26: $2.907   
   Week ending 02/16/26:  $3.057   
      
   That's a +5% rise.   
      
      
      
      
   Meantime, because of the AI cash grab crunch, I decided to buy a couple   
   of HDDs today in case one of mine fail later this year.   
      
   Cost was $270/ea for a 12TB Iron Wolf (not Pro).  Compare that to a   
   previous purchase of a larger & better-spec'ed 14TB Iron Wolf Pro for   
   $195/ea: that's a +38% increase for a smaller drive with lower   
   specifications.   
      
   SSD price increases have been even worse:  a 4TB NvME TB external which   
   I bought last May for $570 is now $1080:   
      
      
      
   ...that's an 89% price increase in less than 12 months.
