   It may be a fact that kindness and gentility is wasted, for the most part.   
   But the question is why?   
      
   Is it because inmates are, "for the most part", inherently bad, or is   
   it because of how they are being treated.   
      
   Our the laws say that, "The penitentiary system shall comprise   
   treatment of prisoners the essential aim of which shall be their   
   reformation and social rehabilitation."   
      
   But, for the most part, that is not the case - is it?   
      
   I don't see how we will ever know the answer until we actually try   
   treating imates with the same humanity that each one of use would want
