From: rrufiange@cfl.rr.com              It's funny, really funny.              Arguments like this are the typical excusatory bullshit I come to expect       from people who want to deliver a verbal message of some kind. People who       "preach" really hate it when someone tries to make it illegal for them to       talk to those who don't want to listen.              Bottom line is, you're acqknowledging the fact that they are offended, that       they feel so strongly about not wanting to hear you preaching to them that       they are seeking legislation to prevent it, yet you don't understand what       the "big deal" is? Silly, and unlikely.              If it's true that it "doesn't matter all that much", why would it be such a       major blow to the movement if you had to speak your prayers in private, or       to yourselves quietly? The answer is quite simple....it does matter, and       you lied.              Keep in mind, any Christian who does the above, commits a sin against his or       her faith.              My criteria for determining the validity of any religion's actions is very       very simple...if it's a sin under the religion's own tenets, then that       action is wrong. Who wants to convert to a religion that violates it's own       rules to recruit? Answer..nobody worth having.              There are very few religions that don't violate their own tenets, and, guess       what? Christianity is NOT one of those few religions.              If you can't shut up and leave people alone, why should you be allowed to       speak at all?       With this contradictory attitude, you're proving exactly why there needs to       be legislature.       They tell you to shut up, some tell you nice, some not so nice, you       obviously don't, so they feel the need to create preacher-free spaces, which       you object to by claiming that it's not necessary, when clearly it is.              Bottom line, you're attempting to display your religion in every nook and       cranny of public society, as well as private society. It's a fact, and       always has been. To deny that, is to be dishonest, and to deny sensible       history for what it is. We all know it's what you're trying to do. Even       you know it's what you're trying to do. Quit being so cowardly and admit to       your actions. It's what your Savior would have done.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
