   I think that some people do it as a form of reverse psychology just to piss   
   people off.   
      
   It's kind of like voting for the ugliest & most clumsy boy and girl to be   
   prom king and queen. People do it as a cruel joke. To be honest, most   
   rehabilitative efforts are serving the exact same purpose when you consider   
   the tremendous efforts being made to prevent ex-convits from finding   
   employment.   
      
   We are rehabilitating people with the expectation that they will lead normal   
   lives, knowing that this is impossible because nobody will hire them, and   
   then bitching about recidivism when they come back to prison, and inventing   
   all kinds of mental diseases to blame it on, then selling psychotropic   
   medications by the truckload to patronize our favorite drug companies and   
   "run game" on medicare/medicade etc.
