I concur... And as Critter have fairly noted, US population's fabric
has been divided on 2 segments, both going apart toward extremes of
their opposite directions, in terms of own welfare and possessions. And
that is exactly the principals of still prevailing Gulag Economy which
was invented by despotic monarchs and tyrannical rulers long before
this term came up do describe it.
Politicians are keeping this inheritance for their own convenience and
leverages of control, at least for the period during their leadership.
The true politics, though, together with their economical and military
powers, are in the hands of rulers of corporate dynasties, which change
hands from one relative to another. Some of them are easily
identifiable, like Kennedy's and Windsor's, but many more are
thoroughly camouflaged, being blended through their industrial
partnerships throughout the whole world. Majority of those dynasties
you can find in Western part of Europe, China, and middle east.

If you'll take some of the most paid CEOs of North America, they are
all related, earning totals of half billion dollars each, yearly, while
there are many millions of homeless across "richest countries of the
world" , whose life's destination is in the hands of the incarceration
   industry.
