   Mandatory death for one's country was only surpassed in terms of stupidity   
   by the "mandatory believing" which was also enforced on the people at that   
   time.   
      
   Those who were exempted from the actual suicide were required to believe   
   that said suicide was wholesome, under penalty of law.
