How many innocent parties proclaim their innocence, and vow to fight the
charges to the bitter end, then buys the accuser's family off, rather than
   fight it in court?

The payoff only occurred AFTER the accuser proved he could positively
   identify Mr. Jackson's private areas.

The only reason I can fathom why he'd suggest a payoff so damned
conveniently after an identification, is because he couldn't explain
reasonably why a child guest would have seen this adult male
musician/celebrity in the nude. It's likely the case, as he knew why he was
going in BEFORE he went in, yet only arranged the payoff AFTER the I.D. was
concluded. Obviously the identification proved something went on Jackson
   couldn't sufficiently explain.

His life will be in no danger. He's a mega-millionaire. His lawyers will
work out some freakish deal where he'll serve house arrest, or be under
   constant doubled guard.

The convicted go into this environment. It's something we like to call
   punishment.
12 people decide the evidence and testimony suggests you did the crime, then
you do the time. It's how it works. Don't like it, get the laws changed.

It is not up to these prosecutors in California to remedy problematic prison
conditions. It's their job to decide upon prosecuting criminal offenders.
Under the current laws, such situations would be relegated to other
departments. But you already knew that, right?

Nobody's trying to kill Michael Jackson. Whether they should be or not, is
   not my place to say.
