I would like you lurkers to read this Meat Beaters response to Chris.

Now picture yourself working a cellblock of about 100 crimms (all of whom
are innocent, you know). Basically, you're a glorified babysitter because
half these guys need to be taught how to count to ten (but by god, they can
make homebrew out of a rotting chunk of turd and a pack of sugar).

Now out of your 100 charges, about 5 of them are going to be like Lefty (or
"critter" or whatever he calls himself now) - howling and screaming, whining
and bellyaching about whatever inane crap he can think of to blabber about.
Mostly, he's a stooge for the real convicts who are busy plotting some
devious shit, and he's the guy who is supposed to keep you distracted from
catching them. Now you know this, but you really can't ignore him because
the minute you do, he goes whining to your Lieutenant or the Captain
complaining that he was begging you for toilet paper - but you ignored him -
which caused him to have to shit his pants which is in violation of his 8th
Amendment Rights - yadda, yadda, yadda (I'll bet those of you who aren't COs
think I'm making this shit up, huh?).

So here you are dealing with this slab of human jetsam....hour after
   hour....day after day....

Back in the old days, you'd just take him out back and whip the cat piss out
of him and be done with it. But in our new and improved, high tech prisons
where everything is video recorded and we have effectively brainwashed all
the staff into being snitches for the Admin, you can't do that.

Can you guarantee that after about 5 years of putting up with his mouthy
bullshit that you wouldn't lose your temper one day and kick him right in
   his coochie?

   Think about it.
