   Yep.  There isn't much humour in prison rape once you have it happen   
   around you.   
      
   And, yes, we know that inmates usually carry shivs (we call them   
   shanks here) for use against other inmates, not against staff.  That   
   doesn't make me like the situation any better, however.   
      
   My real problem with the system in this matter is that this is one   
   area in which the peralties for this crime are nearly always MUCH less   
   than they would be if they were committed in the free world.
