   Look at it this way...   
      
   If you abolish the death penalty, you won't stop it from happening, only   
   stop it from happening in a controlled environment monitored by   
   professionals in the field.   
      
   Tell an aggravated, enraged person that his daughter's rape/murder won't   
   involve the option of the death penalty, that's when you'll find a   
   rape/murder prime suspect resting in the belly of a very fat alligator.   
      
   Tell a cop who just saw someone beat a woman to within an inch of her life,   
   that this deranged individual will get out again, months or years later, and   
   still beat this woman, or another woman, you might find someone taking a   
   very unfortunate fall down a flight of stairs.
