Though I can't prove it with statistical data my personal experience has
proven the exact opposite. The problem, of course, is the lack of hard
information from polls. Simple percentages for pro and anti simply won't
do. I have searched the internet and have not been able to prove my
supposition, which is all it is. I did find one paper which supports
your hypothesis but I don't consider it conclusive in that it concerned
only college students which can in no way be considered representative
of the population as a whole.

If you want to be free, there is but one way; it is to guarantee an
equally full measure of liberty to all your neighbors. There is no other.
