   All "macho" aside, I feel that it's best to be of the mindset to handle the   
   problem yourself.  Statistically, it can take anywhere from 5 to 40 minutes   
   for a cop to get to your location, more than enough time for some crazed   
   lunatic to murder your family and flee.   
      
   If you wait for the cops, you risk becoming a statistic.
