Judge Throws Out Murder Conviction, Orders New Trial Following
   Admission Of Prosecutorial Misconduct

   (Queens-WABC, November 14, 2002) — Thursday brought a bittersweet
victory in court for a Queens man who says he was wrongly convicted of
murder. Tyrone Johnson got part of what he wanted. His conviction was
thrown out, but he remains behind bars. The Investigators' Sarah
Wallace first revealed the crucial new evidence in this case and
   brings us the latest.
    Watch the Story

The Queens district attorney admits one of his prosecutors lied, but
argues that still doesn't mean Tyrone Johnson is innocent. So his
office wants to reinvestigate information they should have had, or did
have, nearly three years ago. Meanwhile, it remained unclear Thursday
if Tyrone Johnson will be released on bail as he awaits a new trial.

Tyrone Johnson is no longer a convicted murderer, after a judge threw
out his conviction on Thursday. But the 26 year-old was still being
held behind bars while the DA's office decides whether or not to go
forward with a new trial next month.

A determined Tyrone spoke with me this afternoon.
